A TEXTBOOK OF SPECTROSCOPY
M.S.YADAV
In recent years, there has been no dearth of elegant works dealing with the subject if spectroscopy at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There are, however, very few books which hold the interest of the inquisitive students. The second revised and enlarged edition of this book encompasses authoritative information on major issues of the subject. The order of the topics covered in this book can do full justification for Indian students. Each topics covered in this book has been explained with a large number of diagrammatic presentations. Every topic has been described in the light of modern developments in a simple language and elegant style. An attempt has been made to include the latest developments in the instrumentation of various spectroscopic techniques.

QUICK REVIEW IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
M.S. YADAV
In this book the important concepts, rules, mechanisms, reactions involved in the organic compounds have been given in a very concise manner. It gives an overview of the whole of the organic chemistry studied by degree students. Some of the more difficult to understand concepts have been simplified to such an extent that they can be easily understood by an average student. The book has been divided into 15 chapters and each chapter deals with a particular aspect. Each topic is self sufficient. To keep the volume in limited size the duplication of reactions has been far sided and at places the reactions given in text have been translated into chemical equations. While dealing with chemical reactions the emphasis has been put to explain not only the mechanism of the reaction but also as to why a particular reaction occurs or does not occur? Why the reactivity has changed in the series of compounds? Etc. It is hoped that the book would be liked by readers as it provides all the important facts of organic chemistry in a comprehensive form.

CONTENTS
Structure and Bonding; Alkanes and Cycloalkanes; Functional Groups; Stereo-Chiemistry; Nucleophiles and Electrophiles; Reactions and Mechanisms; Acid-Base Reaction; Alkenes and Alkynes; Aromatic Chemistry; Aldehydes and Ketones; Carboxylic Acids and their Derivatives; Alkyl Halides; Alcohols, Phenols and Thiols; Etheers, Expoxides and Thioethers; Amines and Nitriles; etc.

QUICK REVIEW IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY
M.S. YADAV
Inorganic chemistry is the branch of chemistry in which all the known elements (except carbon) and their compounds are studied. It is therefore a descriptive study. An attempt has been made in this book to present the subject matter in a unified manner. The main emphasis is to understand various elements on the basis of their position in the long form of periodic table. The topics included in (this book are those which are prescribed in) the syllabus for degree classes by the Indian Universities. A concise account of each topic has been given and an effort has been made to explain the behaviour as the basis of electronic configurations and gradation in properties down a group or across a period of the periodic table. It has been assumed that students are already familiar with the important properties of elements. The classification of elements as metals and non-metals, as representative elements and transition elements, and lanthanides and actinides etc. They are also familiar with reducing and oxidizing nature or elements and other such properties as magnetic behaviour of elements. These have been taken up in various chapters to explain the chemistry of elements.

A conscious effort has been made to avoid the use of mathematics and only a minimum use has been made where it was unavoidable to clear a point.

CONTENTS
Atomic Structure; Introduction to Inorganic Substances; Structure and Bonding in Molecules; Structure and Bonding in Solids; Chemistry in Solution; Chemistry of Non-Metals; Non-Transition Metals; Lanthanides and Actinides; etc.
